AKULAKU - Best Installment Shopping in the Philippines

With the rise of technology nowadays, buying or purchasing had been made easier without leaving the comfort of your homes. You can just simply shop online on various shopping websites being offered on the internet. And this made our new discovery of a new and rising shopping website that is offers a wide variety of products like watches, gadgets and appliances.

Akulaku is originally based in Malaysia and paved its way here in the Philippines to offer Filipinos an easy, reliable and efficient way of purchasing products online, not to mention the 0% interest offer on its installment purchases even without credit cards.

So let me share our own Akulaku experience to let people know that legitimate apps like this exists.

How does Akulaku work?

 How long will the process be?

Like any other mobile app, of course you need to download the application first from your smart phone. Just look for “Akulaku” and choose your country. 

1. Download the app.
2. If asked for the referral code, put: VUX4I to get Php 200 discount on your purchase
3. Go to Personal Tab

After installing the app, you will need to register using your email and you will be asked to submit your requirements. You can just take a photo of each of the requirements then upload it directly on the registration form.

The requirements are as follows:

·         Company ID

·         Government ID

·         One month recent payslip

·         3 specimen signature (on a single sheet of paper)

·         Debit / ATM card (should be showing your name as the account holder)

After submitting all the necessary requirements, you will need to wait for a phone call from Akulaku for the verification, usually done in less than 24 hours.

Once verification is successful, you have to check your Akulaku account to see how much credit limit was allotted for you to make your very first purchase.

Upon knowing your credit limit, you can now choose the product you would like to purchase with the convenience of selecting your preferred payment terms. Akulaku offers flexible payment terms such as 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and even up to one year.

Question:

What if the price of the product I want is more than or beyond the credit limit that was given to me?

Though on some instances, your chosen purchase is more than the allotted credit limit, it doesn’t mean that you can no longer avail the product that you want. You can just include the excess amount on the down payment that will be required. For example:

                Product Price: P26,500

                Credit Limit: P25,000

                Down payment: P1,000

                *In this scenario, the product is more than P1,500 than the credit limit. The difference of P1,500 will be added to the down payment of P1,000. So the total upfront down payment will be P2,500.

After finalizing your purchase, you can now make or send your down payments to their DragonPay payment channel. It can either be made through SM Payment Centers, Affiliated Banks such as BPI and BDO.

After payment was done, you just need to wait for the confirmation and delivery. Make sure you check your Akulaku account for the notification. Once notification was received, your product will be delivered within 24-48 hours. Yep, that fast!

So to sum it up, the entire process will only take a maximum of 3 days for you to purchase and receive your desired product.

** I’m really not a fan of online shopping or transactions made through the internet. Aside from the risk of being scammed, we are really not sure if the products they are offering are legit, authentic or original. But this whole Akulaku experience changed my perspective. There are really legit, reliable and honest transactions that can be done with just the use of your mobile phone and internet.
